Abstract

A lot are speaking about necessity to preserve the drying Dead Sea, but are undertaking nothing for the decision of this important problem. Numerous offers on this question from the organizations and private persons contain a number of interesting and valuable elements, but essential wrong directions of the decision of separate questions often admit in them what can lead to sad results, both for the Dead Sea, and for an environment. The greater financial means expended for realization of measure, will be used inefficiently also. Such defects are related to questions of ecology and to questions of an effective utilization of the energy potential of the Dead Sea in the great degree.

It is possible to suppose, that realization of measure so and has not been begun till now because of absence of rational ecologically competent and economically expedient direction of the decision of the given question. It is absent also the basic scientifically document defining the general direction of works. This is the requirements specification (RS) on execution of the measure.

Questions of ecology of some components of process of preservation of the Dead Sea are considered in the given material. Also rational volumes of additional replenishing of the Dead Sea with water are assessed, kinds of a useful end-product, which will be received at use of an energy potential of the Dead Sea, had been considered, the optimum variant of a geographical route of an artificial water-main for additional replenishing the Dead Sea with water from an external source is offered, the energy balance of the water-main is presented.

Principle, that functioning of the water-main must be put into effect only at the expense of use of an energy potential of this sea, is accepted as a base at the consideration of all questions. Only such variant will make all measure expedient and economically profitable. All it can accelerate terms of the beginning of realization of measure.
